The 33rd Annual Huston-Tillotson Alumni Benefit Golf Tournament honoring Marvin Douglas and Dr.
General Marshall was held at Lions Municipal Golf Course yesterday, May 4th 2023! Dr. General Marshall was professor of mathematics and the golf coach at HTU, and a lifetime Save Muny advocate. Marvin Douglas was one of Austin's first African American firefighters and fire inspectors. Both were pioneers integrating the sport of golf and municipal facilities in Texas. Let's Save Muny as a civil rights landmark, in honor of Marvin Douglas, Dr. General Marshall and all the wonderful people who worked so hard for Civil Rights in Texas!
